Do I need to buy coverage for
a rental car?
As long as at least one vehicle on the policy
has full coverage (ie: Other Than Collision AND
Collision) you may not need to purchase insurance
from the rental agency. We recommend that you
call us.
Do I need to buy insurance for my child’s
personal property while they are away at school?
Typically, coverage is automatically provided
up to 10% of the Personal Property limit on your
homeowner’s policy. Additional coverage
can be purchased.
Do I need to purchase Flood Insurance?
Since flood damage is excluded under your homeowners
coverage, you should be aware that flood insurance
is available from the National Flood Insurance
Program. Most Ohio communities have qualified
for the program that provides coverage for surface
flooding only. Structural and contents protection
are offered. A $500 deductible applies.
Are my contents covered if they are
damaged during a move?
Contents are covered world-wide subject to the
perils of the policy (ie: fire, theft, etc). However,
if movers are used and the truck is involved in
an accident or upset, you’ll need to be
sure the moving company has business insurance.
Is hall rental coverage included in
my Homeowner’s policy?
Coverage is provided per the Personal Liability
section of your policy. An increase in the Liability
limit may be purchased.
OTHER
Do I have coverage for a tornado?
Since the policy specifically refers to windstorm
as a covered cause of loss, some residents have
wondered what exactly windstorm includes. Tornadoes,
hurricanes, high winds, thunderstorms and blizzards
are all included in the definition of windstorm.
Is Sewer & Drain Backup covered under
my homeowners policy?
This coverage can be purchased at an additional
charge and added to your homeowner’s policy.
This endorsement provides protection for direct
loss caused by water that backs up through sewers,
drains or sump pump wells. Just as flood insurance
excludes coverage for sewer back-up, this endorsement
excludes any coverage for damage due to flooding.
Coverage is subject to a deductible.
Is Earthquake covered under my homeowners
policy?
This coverage can be purchased at an additional
charge and added to your homeowner’s policy.
Coverage is available with the premium determined
by the structure of your home or building. Because
it will better withstand an earthquake, a frame
structure is less to insure than a masonry one.
A substantial deductible (often a percentage of
the amount of insurance that applies to the destroyed
or damaged property) is in effect.
